Hella Mega Tour - VIP
Hella MEga Tour
VIP Experience
Experiential Design + Creative Direction
Overview
Together with my friend Aaron, I co-designed and produced the VIP experience for Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer’s Hella Mega Tour. This included tackling pandemic-era constraints and building something that felt alive, meaningful, and distinctly different.
Concept & Inspiration
Took inspiration from legendary punk venue CBGB to craft a gritty, authentic yet elevated vibe for VIP areas.
Translated that inspiration into a modular design that could travel easily assembled, dismantled, and shipped across 20+ global venues.
Design Execution & Technical Requirements
The VIP environment had to meet international durability, fire code, and weight limitations, no small feat when covering venues that vary widely in size and infrastructure.
Developed a scalable layout system, so whether it was a massive arena or a smaller hall, the VIP area looked tight and intentional, never like an afterthought.
Live Impact & Client Response
Delivered an experience that not only stood out from typical industry VIP offerings, but also resonated deeply with the bands and their teams.
The spouses of the Green Day members who traditionally hosted an off-site kickoff party loved the setup so much they decided to hold the after-party inside the VIP space for the first time in their tour history. That kind of organic stamp of approval was a career moment.
Why It Worked
The design fully embodied the spirit of CBGB without feeling retro or referential.
Every logistical need from shipping and assembly to compliance and durability was baked into the solution from square one.
It struck the right balance between exclusivity and authenticity, amplifying audience experience and building trust with stakeholders.
Also, designed and creative directed the VIP experience for Greenday and Smashing Pumpkins “The Saviors Tour” 2025.
